Press Release created and distributed by piabo for Musicplayr.
Cologne, Berlin, October 2012
Musicplayr (www.musicplayr.com), the music profile on the internet, has ended its closed-user-group beta phase. The service allows users to create a personal music profile where songs from YouTube, SoundCloud, Vimeo, Dailymotion and blogs can be collected and played one after another without interruption.
The updated Musicplayr is better than ever in terms of its visuals and technical functionality. The website has been given a brand new look and now boasts a clear, informative and technically sophisticated design. Visitors are provided with a concise overview of the most active users as well as the most popular songs on Musicplayr, while the improved search function allows for a faster navigation. The registration process and login functions have also been completely revised.
The personal music profile lies at the heart of Musicplayr’s appeal, in that it gives users the chance to share the songs they really love with others. These profiles can now be decked out with individual background images, thereby providing users with an even better way to reveal their personality and musical tastes. It’s an addition that ensures every profile has a strong and unique visual impact.
“The most important aspect of this relaunch was to improve both the sound and video quality,” says Thorsten Lüttger, founder and CEO of Musicplayr. “With this release, the user can now define the quality they wish to enjoy their music and video. There is nothing stopping users with a powerful internet connection from enjoying all the videos in maximum HD video quality. Discerning listeners can get exactly what they want.”
“This is the first open version of Musicplayr,” says Stefan Vosskötter, founder and CEO of Musicplayr. “We will continue to respond to user feedback, and are currently working on two major features. Firstly, Musicplayr will become a self-organizing service that uses the latest audio fingerprint technology.” This song recognition technology provides the user with track and artist details. “Secondly,” Vosskötter adds, “the implementation of this technology will make it possible to launch our iPhone app that can identify a song and store it directly onto a user’s music profile.”
Musicplayr is the only free, cross-platform music and video web service. Songs and videos from different platforms can be stored together within a playlist on www.musicplayr.com and played one after the other without interruption. Users create personalized profiles and can regularly discover new music by following other users and their musical selections.
Musicplayr (http://musicplayr.com) is the place where anyone can create their music profile on the web. Users collect song links from Youtube, Vimeo, Soundcloud and music blogs and post these onto private or public playlists, or their own music profile. Songs play in succession and without interruption via the integrated online player. Videos can also be played in full screen mode. Musicplayr also functions as a social network tool for users to follow one another and, in the process, continually discover new music. Thorsten Lüttger, Stefan Vosskötter and Roman Szubryt founded the music startup in August 2011.
