Munich, July 2025 – PTC (NASDAQ: PTC) announces a new startup program for the aerospace and defense (A&D) industry. The goal is to support early and growth-stage startups with leading product development tools to help them innovate and bring products to market faster. As part of the program, qualified startups will receive free access to various PTC solutions – including the SaaS-based CAD software Creo+® for computer-aided design, the cloud-native platform for CAD and product data management Onshape®, the ALM solution Codebeamer+™ and a starter package for the PLM and QMS software Arena®.
The industry is under increasing pressure to move faster, integrate complex systems more efficiently and deliver mission-critical solutions with greater agility. This is where PTC’s A&D Startup Program comes in: It supports startups in developing innovative products faster and actively shaping the technological challenges of the future.
PTC bundles leading technologies for young A&D companies
Startups in the program gain access to Creo+, which is characterized by powerful modelling functions and support for complex assemblies. This is complemented by Onshape, a cloud-native CAD platform with integrated product data management (PDM) and real-time collaboration, ideal for agile teams with minimal IT overhead. Access also includes Onshape Government, a purpose-built version to meet compliance requirements such as ITAR and EAR – designed for US government agencies, defense contractors and organizations involved in regulated projects.
Codebeamer+ is also available: an ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) solution with comprehensive requirements and test management, end-to-end traceability and a strong focus on agile development processes. The offering is complemented by Arena, a cloud-native platform for PLM (product lifecycle management) and QMS (quality management), which is particularly suitable for regulated environments and rapid scaling of product development.
Eligible start-ups can participate in the program over several years – with the aim of providing targeted support for their growth through to key financing and sales milestones. In addition to free access to PTC software, they benefit from the extensive PTC ecosystem of venture capitalists, incubators, technology partners and other innovation players. The offer is complemented by mentoring, public visibility and a wide range of networking opportunities within the industry.
Why startups rely on PTC
“Startups in the aerospace and defense industry are facing some of the most complex engineering challenges in the world – and they need the right tools,” said David Katzman, General Manager of Arena and Onshape at PTC. “With this program, we’re giving them access to PTC’s leading solutions and comprehensive support from day one, so they can move faster, meet regulatory requirements and focus on next-generation development.”
“The development of our own solutions requires maximum precision and reliable tools at every stage,” says Mariarosa Argentiero, Chief Commercial Officer at ARCA Dynamics. “Creo helps us to optimize our production chain and speed up the delivery of our products. The software is particularly valuable for start-ups, as it already comes with all the advanced functions for production – without any additional extensions or add-ons.”
“Developing next-generation spacecraft requires tools that are as agile and forward-thinking as the missions themselves,” says Ben Schleuniger, CEO and co-founder of Orbital Operations. “We adopted Onshape through PTC’s A&D Startup Program – giving us a fast, secure foundation for collaboration and development from the start. As our requirements grew, the special Onshape version for government agencies allowed us to meet even the strictest compliance requirements without losing speed. We really appreciated the support and partnership with PTC from day one.”
