Global Climate Strike 2021: PIABO is on board!

As an agency, climate protection is very important for us. And to make sure it is not just words, we are taking action. On Friday, September 24th, 2021, we will go on a global climate strike.

Not only our colleagues in Berlin, but also our hubs were allowed to close their laptops and make a statement. We bundled all our creativity and grabbed paint brushes and colors to represent our messages on cardboard signs. Our conclusion: analogue and in color can do something, even if it doesn't always look as professional as you'd imagine. But as we all know, practice leads to perfection. And besides, the fun is in the foreground - which we certainly had while tinkering.

But we are also making a statement beyond the climate strike. In 2019, we established the Greentech-Unit to pool our many years of expertise in communications for greentech startups and companies. Since 2020, we have been a member of Leaders for Climate Action. This also includes that we as an agency determine and compensate our CO2 footprint. But we are not satisfied with compensation alone. On the basis of our carbon footprint, we examine how we can further reduce our CO2 emissions step by step. Smart heating, eating only vegetarian food and avoiding air travel are just a few of the many measures we are taking.

Tackling climate change is a joint task - which is why strong alliances are needed. In summer 2020, we joined the Greentech Alliance therefore. This is a global association that is committed to networking and promoting the Greentech community worldwide. The Greentech Alliance brings Greentech companies together with mentors from a wide range of fields - whether from business, venture capital, science or the media. In this way, they are building a broad network and are promoting companies with sustainable business models.

We are also a member of the Alliance for Development and Climate since summer 2021.

This is an initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, founded by KfW. Since fall 2018, the Alliance has been working to link development cooperation and international climate protection. Meanwhile, more than 1,000 people from business, government and civil society are working towards the goal of climate neutrality. We are pleased to be part of this great alliance and to work with other stakeholders to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda. After all, in addition to the Paris climate agreement, the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in particular point the way forward to a liveable and dignified future.

There is certainly still a lot to do, but together it is definitely more fun.

Let‘s drive your success story.
